When I walked into the IMREC meeting room to meet Heather and Ken, I didn’t have a clue what IMGLAD was all about. I was responding to an email call from Dr. Shahru out of curiosity. That was October 2009. Nevertheless, after listening to their explanation, I signed up for the 8-days TTT program to explore further.
The excitement came when I was assigned to 20 trainees at IMGLAD-11 training room. They are fine young graduates from various institutions including three UTM’s very own. Polite and eager to learn, they have shown tremendous improvement since day-1. I was indeed very lucky. The modules focus mostly on employability skills and are based on experiential learning, not classroom teaching.
Today is our celebration day, which marks the end of the first phase of the program. The celebration begins at 10.30 in the morning and ends with dinner and presentation of awards at about 10.30 pm. In the next few days, they will be interviewed for internship placement.
