An Idea From Air Canada

About an hour before arrival in London Heathrow, an announcement was made in Air Canada, flight AC854 from Vancouver. The announcer appealed for any amount of loose change of Canadian currency for the “children network project”. The project aims at providing better health care and other supports to unfortunate children. Minutes later, flight crews distributed envelopes into which passengers can put whatever amount of donations they wish to give. Many people responded positively, and  it looks like that quite a substantial amount were collected. At that instance, my admiration for Air Canada grew astronomically. This is because in many cases upon returning from foreign countries, in time, coins or small change from these countries will be lost, or forgotten somewhere in drawers. Collecting them for charity is a definitely a brilliant idea. To the management and staff of Air-Canada, I salute you…

Weeks ago, a home for the homeless children of Chowkit was highlighted. It was Rumah Nursalam in ChowKit, briefly mentioned by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah in his blog.
